Impatient
I mentioned earlier on my Twitter (yes, I tweet) that my fuse is extremely short these days. Extremely. Can I even put enough emphasis on that word?
I am turning into the Incredible Hulk if my blood pressure sky rockets. Ok, so not the green skin color, but I'm pretty close to ripping open my shirt and screaming and causing some damage to a chair.
Sophia is at my wits end. She is gearing up for those 2's and I tell you what, I just don't know how I'm going to deal with them. For Joel, she is as sweet as a chocolate pie but for me I swear blood comes out her mouth and smoke from her ears. I think I also saw some horns growing on top of her head. She is a monster.
Yes, that might be a bit dramatic but I'm highly irritated how she switches moods instantly with me and whines about EVERYTHING. The whining. The crying. The fits. The diaper changes and her kicking my face because I must have cold hands. I can't take it.
So therefore, my fuse is short.
But as I type this, I look over at the little devil and she is eating a rice cake peacefully and watching Tinker Bell in Joel's chair. She's just darling.
Until the next meltdown...

Aw, she just misses her Aunt Nicole!
Good luck with it all Stephanie. My sister has gone through the same thing. Hopefully it will get better SOON!!!!!!!!!
If not, we will just have to start drinking more cocktails. :-)
A couple things come to mind:
1. It's OKAY to get mad, just keep your attention span on par with hers. (example: if she needs a bit o' discipline, do it, then immediately forget it and move on. She did.)
2. She's only trying to find out where Mom's boundaries are. Consistency is key. Ours play Mom all the time, they know Dad's going to drop the hammer immediately if they're out of line.
This weekend we thought we'd treat them to Baskin Robbins. TOTAL MELTDOWN when the ice cream melted their cones. I left there and said, "I can't believe I just paid for that experience!!!!!"
We laughed, and put it behind us. Good luck, keep the discipline short and consistent. And then forget the incident (quickly!)
